Oregon State University Marine Operations
From oceangoing research vessels operating in the Pacific Ocean to smaller boats used in coastal and inland waters of the Pacific Northwest, the fleet supports activities including oceanography, marine biology, fisheries research, and climate studies.
Marine Operations provides vessels, professional crews, and technical support to ensure safe and efficient fieldwork for researchers and students, and collaborates closely with Oregon State University faculty and external partners to advance marine science and education.
Composed of maritime professionals and support teams responsible for:
Management and maintenance of research vessels
Support of scientific and educational missions
Maritime safety and operational standards
Training and operational support for researchers and students
